Growing up in Greenwood with her father, Neil Cost, a local hunting icon, for whom the Greenwood chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is named, was an enriching experience. Dad was more than just a “turkey hunter.” In fact, he was known internationally as the Stradivarius of “turkey call” manufacturers. Sally's Dad left her a “work ethic” and the firm belief that she could be as successful as he was if she wasn’t afraid to different. His example taught Sally to be more than just “house hunter.” |
Why Should You Choose The Sally Morris Sally's son Mike joined her in the winter of 2006 and shares in Sally's goal to raise your home buying or selling experience to an “art form.” Just as her Dad worked hard to produce the kind of turkey calls that made “turkey hunting” easier and more pleasant for millions of hunters, they work hard making lots of calls of their own and doing the kind of research that makes “house hunting,” and home buying an easier and more pleasant experience for folks just like you. In 1989, Sally full potential, sharing his mother's creativity and need to be his "own boss". |
Mission Statement My way of doing business is, no doubt, different than many of the agents you have met. Most of them are more interested in “selling you” a home than they are in “helping you” find the home of your dreams. Or using the same methods as every other Realtor does to sell your Home we recognize home means lots of different things to each family member. Therefore, the ultimate goal of this agent is to help meet as many of the diverse needs of the home buying and selling family as possible. Why not let us do what I can to help you fill in the missing colors in your American Dream? |
| Her Background Sally grew up in Greenwood but moved to Sarasota, Florida, returned in 1999 to care for her father, well known Turkey Call Maker Neil Cost. Referred to as the Stradivarius of Turkey Call Makers. As a young child, Sally said her father also spent some time doing ink drawings of wild life and was quite good at it, selling some of them and also giving them away to admirers,Sally trying to imitate her dad would also draw, but never felt she could measure up to the talent that seemed to come so easily to her role model. It was later in her life Sally said in a small apartment in Sarasota, Florida that she would discover that she too had a God given talent to express herself through art. As she was going through a storage building in the back yard she discovered some cans of paint in a variety of colors. Thinking of the empty wall behind the couch in her living room she knew that space needed something, but hadn't had the money to buy anything to put there so she decided to try and paint a picture on the wall. After all she says, "if it didn't look good she could always paint over it". Well, as she started to paint Sally said the brush seem to have a life of it's own, & the wall became a mountain stream with a water fall in the foreground. That was the beginning, and she has never let her lack of formal art training stop her...Says that even after finishing many paintings she is still amazed that she has created them. See Some of Sally's Art and Photography This has helped her in other endeavors throughout her life knowing that if you really want to do something bad enough you will succeed if you just go on and do it and never give up. She is also an amateur photographer and loves gardening, any outdoor activity, especially loves horseback riding in her spare time. Sally was a Cosmetologist for twenty five years and loved the creative nature of the business, finding her background in painting to be a plus when it came to hair color and quickly had a loyal following of women and men who needed her expert knowledge of this art. The last ten years she was in the business Sally had several hair salons in assisted living centers and it was there she discovered another talent, working with seniors, making them feel beautiful at a time in their lives they did not feel they were. She found that she enjoyed making other people happy. A visit to her salon (a bright cheerful place filled with flowers and art) it is said, was a much looked forward to event each week for the ladies much like the"old days".As much as she would miss being with them Sally had to find another profession it was too much for her to lift and tug to get them in and out of their chairs, her back after years of standing on her feet was beginning to bother her and Sally decided that it was time for a new challenge. She became interested in real estate and decided that she would take the classes she needed to obtain a license, which she says "was the hardest thing I have ever attempted to do" The amount of information I had to learn and retain was overwhelming, especially to someone who has been away from the books as long as I had been, she says. But never saying I can't, she did and is now a REALTOR with Re/Max Action Realty in Greenwood See more of Sally's Art and Photography A Guide To A Few Special Restaurants In The Area Southern Cooking Yoder’s Dutch Kitchen Located on the 72 bypass between Greenwood and Abbeville is one my favorites.
