The Old 96 District, now a popular tourist destination in South Carolina, was originally inhabited by the Cherokee. This region was the birth place of the Confederacy. The region continued support a great amount of textile mills and various other businesses. Park Seed Corporation, located in Greenwood and one of the largest gardening companies in the world, plays a large part in the Emerald City's ability to host this event.
