Abbeville SC
Let me just say that I love Abbeville! When my tires touch the brick paved Main Street, I'm home. I love sitting outside The Ice Cream Shop on a hot summer day and watching people going in and out of the stores that line Trinity Street and I never get tired of the specials of the day at The Village Grill or the reverence I feel when I open the doors and go in the beautiful history filled Episcopal Church with it's awesome stained glass windows that was founded in 1859 and can still feel the presence of the lost Confederate soldiers and their families that worshiped there so many years ago. I can't forget to mention the beautiful antebellum style homes that line Main St
or the unique stores and The Opera House that play to sold out audiences, local art displayed all over town. If you love historic small towns you've got to visit Abbeville and you might find you just don't want to leave. If that happens I can help you find the perfect home!

Things To Do & See
Abbeville is a taste of yesteryear with it's cobblestone main square and historic architecture is like a travel in time back to the old south. The courthouse on the square once belonged to Revolutionary war leader Andrew Pickens. It also was the site that John C. Calhoun launched his political career. If you love history and or have a fascination with ghosts you will enjoy the annual "Ghost Walk" Abbeville is said to have numerous tales of old homes and buildings inhabited by what they say can only be ghosts of the past.
The small historic town is both charming and proud of it's historic roots. One famous land mark is The Opera House Many "road companies" toured from New York to Atlanta, with the Opera House as an overnight stop. Between 1908 and 1913, Abbevillians enjoyed approximately 260 live performances on the magnificent Opera restored to its turn-of-the-century condition with two exceptions - the addition of air Many "road companies" toured from New conditioning and rocking chair seats. Listed on The National Register and is the only "Hemphouse" remaining in South Carolina
Another must see is The Old Trinity Church, built in 1860 and noted for its Gothic Revival architecture. When you walk through the doors of this historic landmark you are taken back in time and can almost see the men, women and children of the past as they might have been seated in the old pews. Beautiful stained glass windows absolutely take your breath away.
A crowd gathered for the yearly Spring Festival in Abbeville which draws crowds from all over the country to enjoy the street vendors, arts and crafts, bands, antique car show, and rides.
